5 MUST-HAVE FALL BOOTS

Booties

Today booties come in a variety of different heels, heights, colors and fabrics. The options are truly endless. Another great benefit of booties is that they are not restrictive around your legs.

Black leather booties are very versatile and a wardrobe staple. They will go with virtually everything – dress pants, suits, skirts, dresses, and jeans. A brown or tan/walnut colored bootie is another great option. It can be a little less formal but will work for both work and casual occasions. Pair your suede/chunky heeled booties with jeans, dress pants, sweater dresses, and cords.

Suede colored booties are everywhere right now with fun details, such as cutouts, bows, ties, and fringe. Depending on where you shop you also might spot a few velvet options (velvet is big for fall).

Wedge Boots

Wedge boots often give off a more fun and funky vibe to your outfit. Sometimes you just need a comfortable boot that you can walk in for miles, and that is supportive for your feet. The wedge style will distribute all of your weight evenly as if you are walking barefoot.

Wedge boots and booties pair well with jeans and casual dresses/outfits. They come in a variety of heel heights in both booties and boots, with details such as buckles, ties, leather, and suede.

Riding Boots

Also known as the flat equestrian boot, these have been around for forever! Their straight cut makes it easy to slip in and out of them and pairs well with your skinny jeans, leggings, casual wool or jean skirts, or with your sweater dresses. Riding boots are more casual but still refined. You will find them in more neutral colors, black, tan/walnut, brown, two-toned (black and brown), and also gray.

High-Heel / Knee-High Boots

Dressier than a riding boot, a knee high boot with a stiletto or stacked heel can be worn for work or casual occasions. You can pair it underneath a pair of boot-cut trousers, with skirts, dresses – both professional and casual, skinny jeans, boot-cut jeans, and over leggings.

Over-the-Knee-Boots

Also known as OTK Boots, Over-the-Knee Boots have been popular over the past few years.  If you follow any fashion/style blogs, you have seen these ladies sporting them.  Rachel Zoe says, “This is for the fashion-daring!” While I agree with her, I’ll also add that they work for everyone. Yes, every body type.

It can be a little more challenging to find the correct fit versus all the other boot options and can be a bit trickier to wear.  The first image that comes to mind when I think of over-the-knee boots is the movie “Pretty Woman” (Julia Robert’s character at the beginning of the movie).   Have no fear they have been modernized to be more polished and are perfect for day or night.

You can style your boots with oversized sweaters, leggings, above the knee skirts and dresses, and over skinny jeans.   The relaxed but elegant look is made complete with a feminine flash of skin at the thighs.
